Luna Park

Luna Park is an international, interdisciplinary, multi-media performance project that researches the state of tradition in the urban setting of a modern metropolis. Artists from Istanbul, Dortmund, Munich and Budapest will realize this artistic research in several steps combining video, choreography, media-art, installation and Performing Arts. Therefore the artistic outputs will be in various forms such as video, dance, site-specific performance, multi-media installation, and the combination of these. Furthermore it will work with space-modules which are combined due to the location it takes place.

Thematically LUNA PARK researches the question if traditions are present in modern society. What role do they have? How did they change in the course of the last decades? Are they part or contrary to the demands of a modern urban society? The research will show the rich background of the participants. Thus this exchange will lead to a better mutual understanding among the international teams and will find its output in the performances. It could be said that the performances in Germany will be a cultural ambassador for today’s Istanbul in Germany and a cultural ambassador for today’s Germany in Istanbul.
